Northern Cardinal Pair

This pair of cardinals is on permanent display at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. The piece was carved and donated by Hank at his 50th reunion and was included as part of the Class of 1962 gift to the University. The base was carved  out of two pieces of tupelo. The top half of the base with the word ‘Wesleyan’ re-created the stonework of the Foss Hill Dorms as  they were the Class of 62’s  dorms for their freshman year. The bottom half with the year ‘1962’ is a re-creation  of the stonework of the Chapel. Click on each photo below to enlarge. View more songbirds.
